Project Proposal Draft
Title: Cooking with College Kids
Theme/Concept: Advice/Stories for prospective college students on a broad range of topics
Genre: Advice/Interview/Cooking
Synopsis: My video is intended to give a little more understanding of college to prospective students from a group of girls who are now in their sophomore year of college and have been friends since high school. Each of us has a broad range of experiences, interests, majors, and location/size/type of schools (ex: Northern vs Southern colleges; large vs small universities; city layout vs closed campus; traditional vs art school; STEM vs Arts and Sciences majors). To add a little more interest than a basic interview, we will be making our own first home-cooked meal in a while - something that is famously missed by many students. We will introduce ourselves and describe each of our respective schools a little and what our major and prospective careers could be. While cooking/baking we will discuss all of the many different aspects of college, including but not limited to: academics, organization, social life and clubs/greek life, dorms, roommates, food, pros and cons of each of our schools, adjusting to being on our own, etc.
Video Style: The video will be filmed similar to a cooking/talk show, possibly with other clips outside of the kitchen.
Breakdown: Coming into kitchen/greeting after being away - introductions; prep ingredients/turn on oven - talk about preconceived notions of college, advice we heard, etc; mix ingredients and follow steps - discuss adjusting to college life, academics/study habits, social life/involvement, etc; put food in oven; waiting for food to cook/bake - stories that stand out, ups and downs, organization, ups and downs, etc; take food out of oven and serve food - while eating, discuss dining halls/food at college, dorms, friends, keeping in touch with old friends; potential for bloopers at the end
Target Audience: Teens/high schoolers and other prospective college students
Objective: Enlighten the target audience of the different aspects of college from a variety of perspectives
Setting: The video will take place in a kitchen and a dining room, with potential individual interviews in a separate, cozy room.
Length: approximately 20 minutes
Hi, Victoria. Can you fix this post and the one before this by making sure it doesn't run across the screen? If you first copy and paste your text into Notepad, it will get rid of the formatting and you can put it back into the post. Give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHi. Victoria, can you remind me what your topic is going to be for this project? I can't recall exactly what we talked about, and I'm trying to come up with a specific freewrite for you.
